The App State Academy at Middle Fork is dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment for students and their families. *Please note the following are snow make-up days: March 7, April 21, May 21, May 22, and May 23. Students will have school on these dates.

In keeping with the transportation and nutrition schedule of WS/FCS, our public school partner, the Academy at Middle Fork will follow the same school year calendar. This includes:

  • arrival/dismissal
  • early dismissal 
  • teacher in-service days
  • parent/teacher conferences 
  • holidays
  • summer days
  • open house

Bus Transportation

The Academy at Middle Fork works with WS/FCS to arrange bus transportation. Students who live in the Middle Fork residential area (determined by WS/FCS) receive bus transportation to and from home. All other students are provided transportation through community bus stops.  This means that you will have to drop your child off and pick your child up at a magnet location for transportation to and from the Academy.

Transportation is also provided to several local after school child care programs and centers. Learn more about bus transportation services and/or contact the Academy at Middle Fork to find out if you are in the Middle Fork residential area and for a listing of after school programs with available transportation.

Free School Meals

All Academy at Middle Fork students receive free breakfast and lunch. Learn more about school meals and view menus.

Would you like to serve as a VOLUNTEER at the Academy?

To serve as a volunteer at the Academy, please follow the steps below:

  1. If you already have a dynamic form account (for example you enrolled your student using the online form) you can log in here. If you do not have an account, create an account today.
  2. Complete the volunteer application form.
  3. Check your email for correspondence from Appalachian State University.  Follow the instructions in order to submit information needed by InfoMart to do your background check.  This email contains a timely link that must be followed within “seven (7) business days” before it expires.
