Why did you choose to work at the Academy?
One of the Academy’s commitments is Developing the Whole Child. That resonated with me because developing the whole child includes social skills, emotional needs, and cognitive abilities. We have implemented an amazing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program and have seen continual growth in our students, which will help prepare them for the real world.

What's your favorite part about working at the Academy?
The community! It does not matter what role you have here at the Academy, you are treated with equity and love. We are one BIG family!

How are you impacting education in your community?

Math

The Academy has a reading literacy focus. What is your favorite book?

“Learning together” is a core commitment of the Academy. Describe an experience where you "learned together" at the Academy.
I’ve had the privilege of working closely with our combo 3/4 students in a new role and setting — new for the students and me. The students showed me so much grace and patience, which made me realize how much we can learn from each other. Through that process, strong relationships were formed and I will treasure them forever.

Just for fun, what is your favorite candy?
Snickers
