Staff Spotlight: Kaitlyn Marshall

Kaitlyn Marshall, originally from Danbury, North Carolina, earned a B.A. in elementary education from University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2021. Marshall serves as a fifth grade teacher at the Academy at Middle Fork. Read on to learn more:

Why did you choose to work at the Academy at Middle Fork?

I chose to work at the Academy at Middle Fork because of its creativity and innovative ways of teaching to make learning more engaging for students. 

What's your favorite part about working at the Academy at Middle Fork?

My favorite part of working at the Academy at Middle Fork  is the sense of family and relationships that continue from grade level to grade level. 

How are you impacting education in your community?

I love building relationships and showing students learning can be FUN! 

What was your favorite subject when you were in elementary school?

Math

“Learning together” is a core commitment of the Academy at Middle Fork. What does "learning together" mean to you? 

Learning together means being part of a team that’s supportive and collaborative — one that builds up each team member and is there to lean on when you need a small push.
