My favorite part about working at the Academy is seeing the students come into school every morning — I love seeing their happy faces when they enter the building.
Marisol Martinez, originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, serves as the Academy’s first-grade teacher assistant and helps with H.E.R.way, a student group that provides fifth-grade girls with unique learning opportunities outside of the classroom that will contribute to greater academic success while developing social and emotional growth.

Why did you choose to work at the Academy?
I wanted to work at the Academy at Middle Fork because the staff works together to provide a better education for our students. I enjoy working directly with the students and knowing that I am making a difference in their lives.

What learning together means to me is that everyone works together and helps each other out. I especially enjoy working in a small group to tackle a task and/or a problem that needs to be solved.
